One Nation Congratulates The ACTU In Its Call To End Free Trade

One Nation congratulates the ACTU in its call for a halt to further free trade agreements until the end of the recession.

Free trade is an economic doctrine One Nation has opposed since its inception.

The ACTU also called for a 20 per cent price advantage for Australian over foreign products in the procurement of goods and services by Governments, another policy supported by One Nation.

It is pity it took the global financial crisis to bring this on, because after 35 years of globalisation factories have been closed, farmers have been forced of their land and manufacturing skills have been lost that will be hard to recover. The result has been massive unemployment, hidden by forcing people into early retirement with so-called voluntary redundancy, or into part time work or onto invalid pensions. Another result has been the flooding of our shops with second-rate merchandise, much of it made with slave labour, from Communist China.

Unlike the founding fathers of Australian Labor who put the prosperity of Australian workers first, the international socialists in power in Canberra now give more priority to the prosperity of workers overseas.

In NSW the unions beat the Labor Government over the issue of privatising electricity so with the wind in the right direction they might win the free trade battle to protect Australian jobs.

If the ACTU does turn Government policy around on free trade it will only prove One Nation has been right all along.
