700,000 Australians On Disability Pensions Proves Unemployment Figures Are Faked

The news that 720,000 Australians are on disability pensions proves that for years unemployment figures quoted by both Coalition and Labor Governments have been faked.

It has been too easy to dump jobless people into the Disability Support Scheme to get them out of the unemployment figures and make the Government of the day look better than it is.

Many of those on disability pensions have only minor physical or psychological ailments and could be productively working, if a greater effort was made to fit them into appropriate jobs that would accomodate their disability.

This would partly fix the so-called skills shortage that has caused the Rudd Government to come up with its absurd scheme for increasing the migrant intake that is far too high already.

A signifcant proportion of people on disabled pensions, of course, are there as a result of drug and alcohol abuse, another problem that decades of Governments have ignored, if not encouraged.

One Nation says we need Governments that give priority to fixing the problems of the country instead of fixing their published statistics to make themselves look good.
